MAP We are based close to the Ylläs tourist center in Western Lapland, in the municipality of Kolari. Ylläs area consists of seven fells and two original lappish villages. At 718 m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Lapland. Äkäslompolo village is located on the northern side of the the Ylläs fell and Ylläsjärvi village on the southern side. In both villages there are cottages for hire, hotels, restaurants and shops. Kittilä airport 58 km, Levi ski resort 72 km, Rovaniemi , the capital of Lapland 195 km, center of Kolari with all services 34 km. Kolari trainstation 30 kms. Driving instructions: From Äkäslompolo village 5 kms: Drive from Äkäslompolo village towards Kolari 5 kms. Turn right to "Aavahelukantie". At the crossroads there is a brown sign "Lapin Vaellushevoset". Drive apprx. 300m and turn left up the hill, where you will find a parking place. Driving time 10-15 minutes. From Ylläsjärvi village 20 kms: Drive to Äkäslompolo village by the fellroad all the way to T-crossing, turn left towards Kolari and drive 5 kms. Turn right "Aavahelukantie". At the crossroads there is a brown sign "Lapin Vaellushevoset". Drive apprx. 300m and turn left up the hill, where you will find a parking place. Distance apprx. 20 kms, driving time apprx. 20-25 minutes. If you use navigator, use the address "Aavahelukantie". Taxi If you don´t have a car, the easiest way to come is to take a taxi.
